Camping In

I've been camping in these past several days, filling a host of orders and and enjoying them. It's fun making people happy and it's also rewarding to have your art appreciated, collected and worn, I feel very fortunate.

The days are good and I always have Chester here to keep me company. He makes little gurglie sounds and faint whistles just outside the door to let me know he has arrived.

hello, come on in!

He loves peanuts and I discovered someting I found rather interesting. He was up in his little tree about 8 feet from the ground and I shelled pistachios and tossed them on my small deck, the same way  I give him peanuts , shelled and broken but he never budged. To me they looked exactly the same but he wasn't fooled. The second I threw out a peanut he was on it. How did he know?

My girlfriend brought me peonies, tight little buds, wilted leaves, they looked rather sad. I recut the stems and put them in water then set them in a nice place in the house. I came inside and in about an hours time they were perked an opening so I put them in front of me in my estudio so I could enjoy them while I tapped and sawed.

Beautiful, thank you K!

Hey!...... This bunny is so bold, I've never had one quite like him in my garden. He's like a pet, unafraid, I'm finding him rather cute, look at that smile :)

This little pair lounges outside my door every day, they are so used to my coming and goings, they don't even move, lizard love...

 inside wildlife, swoon tune

  Banjo and friends

Ceramic jewelry I used to make and have a hankering to make some more. Bride and groom all ringed up.

A ceramic tile I carved for a show and kept :)

I caught him on his hind feet looking in my window while I was in the house making dinner so I grabbed my camera, he proceeded to take a nap on my deck behind the blooming lychnis.

I hope your days are good as well, much love, Ro

  3. Oh, maaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnn, I want to camp in with you and your critters!!! Except that bad, bad bunny (can you tell I've already had arguments this year with bunnies in my yard over lilies and hostas?)--but I can be polite to him. Chester is my hero, all the way!!!

And those peonies!!!!!! Wow!!!!! Mine just popped up into the sunshine here.
    :-)

Debbie is right--enjoy your wonder-filled time and space there, lady. And I agree with MrsLittleJeans on the ceramic jewelry--the glimpses and few pieces you've shared the past few years have been so lovely--I would be thrilled to see (and wear) more!!

    :-)

Do you have a system for making s'mores on these camp-ins of yours? If so, I'm a-comin' over.

    1. I should practice being polite and WAIT for an invitation, I know. Sorry.

Chester, you really should try the pistachios...develop your palate. :-)

      Hugs to you, Ro-so-busy!!!

    2. I think I'm officially beaten down, I just put some wire around my freshly hatching hyacinth beans, cuz I woulda cried if that bunny chewd them, I'm tired of fighting.......why can't we all just get along :) He likes strawberries, I can't say I blame him.

HAAA yes!! I'll get the marshmallows!

Hugs back, I'm making good progress......I think the peonies are helping :)

  4. Heyyyyyy, if you invite Caroline, we all get invites, right?? lol

Too funny -- Chester turns up his beak at pistachios, and holds out for peanuts! Can you put him to work somehow? I can tell he would work for peanuts. ;)

Let me just say, you probably have one of the coolest houses ever (e-ver) with ALL of those beautiful pieces of art everywhere. I always "ooh and ah" over all of your photos...with little groupings of lovely things. You have great taste (but we all know that!)

And aren't peonies just so lovely? I just had a friend (just yesterday) who was convinced that the word "peony" has its stress on the "o" sound. Say it that way -- it's funny! It was all I could do NOT to laugh out loud!!!!!

XO to you, your smiling bunny, lovebird lizards and smartypants-Chester....and oh -- you too, of course :))

    1. We can pitch a tent on the gravel, bring flashlights and a blow up mattress, we can do hand shadows.

I really don't know how that clever bird could tell but he most certainly could, he turned up his beak!!

Awww why thank you, people send me good stuff, I'm the lucky bird!

Okay now I'm going to start saying peOnies oh, la, la..

      Hugs from all of us!

    And the lizards!!! Too cool.
I love peonies, I'm still waiting for mine to bloom.
And what is Chester thinking? Pistachios are way better than peanuts :)

    1. He is cute and bold, looks at the dogs through the window. I first noticed the bunny when I was typing and Banjo was in the other room making the weirdest sound ever. She was looking at that bun.

This is lizard land, we have them everywhere but the same two sit on my deck every day, all day long.

Oh boy something to look forward to, the peOnies, SO pretty.

He likes the simple things :)

  6. Ro you remind me of some of the Disney ladies...all those animals friends coming around to visit. Are you Snow White? or Cinderella?

I also love to see photos of your art gallery in your home. You are one talented lady!

Chester is so cute along with the lizards and bunny. I would love to have some lychnis in my garden, so pretty.
(We also need some lizard friends around here!)

Thanks for the tour, and introducing us to your wild critters.

Thank you, I'm sure your home is full of juicy bits too.

When they go to seed I'll send you some, they are exceptionally easy to grow Cinda.

Oh Thanks for the seed offer. I would love some! : )
I hope they are easy to grow in my area.

      You're the best!

I still want some sunbathing lizards...but, I guess my fat toad will have to do as my gardening companion.

  7. Your jewelry is always wonderful and the ceramic pieces remind me of buttons. Buttons and beads must have been the first trade items, true currency. Love all the critters.
