I spent the entire weekend geeking out over my work and I must say I've been thinking about this piece for quite a while, I found some rough sketches I had made a couple of weeks ago which I had forgotten I had drawn, I can be doodlie. To my surprise it looked very similar to the finished piece, the first and only "Along the Trail" bracelet.
It was a wonderful challenge but the most challenging part was getting good photos.
Each stone contains a small scene but just like the changing weather they don't obey at the same time for pictures, then there's the pretty shine, not so good for photo's...
a snow scene....winter sun.....fog and tall conifers.........sunrise and naturally the birds.
When in doubt stick it in the full sun and irradiate it! I love this piece it speaks of all the things I adore, small stories are incased in each stone.
I went for a walk with Jo this morning, I should have worn down but I opted for polar fleece, even with gloves my fingers ached as if each had been cut off :) baby it's cold outside!
Thanks for gawking and joining me along the trail, love Ro

Ro, that bracelet is "Magnificent".....great job. I was going to go walking this morning, but it is tooooo cold and windy out here in Riverside. xoxoxo Jeanmarie
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanmarie! No wind here but literally freezing! I took a short one :)

GASP.
ReplyDeletei hope you wear that bracelet and don't give it up for anything.
well....maybe for it to be around MY wrist, but that's only second to wanting YOU to wear it.
i'm pleased to know you and for the opportunity to join in the walk-n-gawk travels. truly. sincerely.
Eric asked me if I would keep it but I won't especially after my recent stone binge :)
ReplyDeleteWalk and gawk HA! those baby deer are so cute!
That bracelet is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteI see that you already sold it...not surprised that if flew away so fast.
I love the stones in it.
You are having freezing cold weather and we enjoyed a weekend of "balmy" spring temps ( 67 ) around here. Today it's back to the way it should be, in the 30's.
Now we just need the snow to return so it looks like winter once again.
Happy trails!
xo

You are 100% entitled to some major geeking out on this piece, Ro! I knew yesterday when I saw those hawks' wings glinting in the fading sunlight that the addition of some lovely stones was just going to put this one over-the-top. Can't wait to see what other wonders will come pouring out of your studio in the next several days...
ReplyDeleteIt has been icy cold here as well. Speaking of "geeking out", I am totally smitten with frost of late... the way it edges all the leaves and twigs and even the furry green mosses. Oh, and every small puddle and semi-frozen pond boasts a geometric odyssey of crackled ice on the surface. Love!!
xo,
Harsi
Oh it was so much fun and so much concentration, making sure the stones were set correctly all with the same gravity, my mind could not wanter too far with this piece!!
DeleteSo lovely, I could geek out on ice and frost too, I HAVE done it!!
xoxo
