Arting
I hope you're enjoying your weekend, I have been spending my time in a quiet studio bringing silver to life. I made one of these sweet birds last weekend trying to figure out just how to give them silver wings. One thing I love about my job is the problem solving involved it's such a wonderful challenge.
After burning one bird up I decided to cold connect them by riveting.
*fyi, mother of pearl smells really bad when it's on fire :)
I had a couple of requests for more, but I have made two for etsy, they are listed here.
*sold
Delia asked me to show the custom work I'm currently finishing and I know we all like to look at jewelry, this is a ring I finished for a friend here in town, another challenge, how to set an open geode, I'm very happy with the result.
As you can see I certainly have a bird brain lately.

What a flock!!! From the sea to the sky...I bet those fetishes are thrilled to be given wings....
ReplyDeleteGlorious ring, by the way, with a wing of its own...just marvelous!!
I like the way they look as a flock too!
DeleteWings and feathers doesn't get much better :)
Thank you!
*"Marvelous" he heeee
DeleteGorgeous setting for a beautiful stone, Ro. And those doves are super sweet and ethereal. Glad you've been having such a creative weekend, you talented silvering goddess, you!
ReplyDeleteYou know those days when you wake up even more tired than when you went to bed? It's been one of those weeks, actually. So today it's me, my favorite chair, my favorite blanket, a movie marathon and reheated mac and cheese. (Do I know how to take it easy or what!)
Happy Sunday, Ro!

DeleteOh I don't like those days but everybody has them, I call them "down days' time for a rest!

Beautiful little doves! Very clever idea.
ReplyDeleteThat ring is lovely too, the stone is so unique and your feather is a great complement to it.
I like your bird brain :)
Thank you D Jay, now I'm imagining you riding a deers ear :)
DeleteThank you, I like the way the ring turned out, I'm cheep, cheeping :)
What a wonderful photo! A sweet little flock of MOP :-). How quickly these 2 have flown to their new homes! (I'm not surprised.....they really are something special <3. Very cool!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing too with the beauty of a ring. She's a different kind of feathered lovely. YOWZA!
xxxooo
I like they way they look in flight, I watched a bevy of doves lift from the top of a deodar then all make a swift left......very similar, shining wing undersides :)
DeleteThank you!
xoxo
These are so wonderful and unique! Your ability to connect with and interpret the nature around you is so beautiful, and your work totally oozes all of that goodness :) Also, as today I have been struggling to capture my latest creations in decent enough photos to use in listings, I have to say that your pictures look AWESOME!!! Especially the shot of that beautiful ring...the light is just perfect, and the colors and details pop! I had a rough day in that department, so I couldn't help notice how RAD yours look. Happy Sunday!

Oh man Sierra, that white balance can be a real PUNK, through all the struggles something is always gained, even if it's just knowing it won't work under natural light past or before a certain hour no matter how you set the balance.
DeleteThank you so much!
Keep at it.....
you art quite nicely!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I like it :)
