Today

Happy August everybody, whew we made it through some pretty warm July days, summer persists here in the Southwest with temps in the 90's. I added a few new bobbles to my etsy store this morning. The turquoise leaf ring was claimed off etsy by a friend. These are good days to stay cool in my studio with the a/c humming, tunes blasted.

I finished the "Solitude" piece I had been working on and wanted to share the competed piece with you.

I love the way it turned out, so gentle and peaceful with the carved turquoise pine bough.

Is anyone able to stay awake for The Olympics? I watched some of the gymnastics last night before I had to fall into bed. Women's gymnastics are my favorite event. I did gymnastics throughout high school and have a particular fondness for the sport. Oh, how about those volleyball girls!

Happy Wednesday all, xoxo Ro

  2. These are simply gorgeous, Ro. Those stones! You always find a way to perfectly frame every single one.

I love watching gymnastics in particular, but I'm such a wiener--fearing a fall or stumble--that I do so with eyes partially covered!

  3. What a line-up of rings--and that dove! Oh, that dove!!!! Are surprised most of these beauties are claimed already? No, we are NOT.

YAY for Olympics--we're two hours earlier than you, so the TV coverage is easier. I worked around events last night--saw the USA and Russia in two rounds of gymnastics--wonderful young women. I admire their focus and strength and fearlessness--and I always cheer for someone, from any country, who turns in an outstanding performance and then smiles about it!

(Ooops, went a little long--can you tell I'm a bit of an Olympics junkie??)

Ro, what gymnastics events did YOU like best to perform??

And I'm with you, Ash--Ro's "frames" are always the perfect design--seems like each particular stone was waiting for that particular way to be showcased.

    1. Oh well thank you, it's awfully nice to have my work so well received.

I wish our started earlier, that's for sure. I'm with you, it doesn't matter what country, remember Nadia? :) :) I loved the camaraderie in the girls swimming, hugs all around.

I loved tumbling and trampoline, the balance beam is SO DIFFICULT!

  7. Ro, I love your Solitude piece, exquisite!

Sadly I am missing all of the Olympic events. We don't have cable tv, so no NBC and they won't stream on-line to Canada.

    1. Thank you Shannon.

We don't have cable or satellite, I assumed every country would have their own coverage. It's on so late here most of it may as well not be on.

  8. Your solitude pendant is STUNNING!! Really wonderful rings!! You have a great eye for interesting stones & I agree, the way you chose to "frame" a stone seems just right. I love the unusual stone shapes & looking at the additional photos on etsy, all the rings have so many beautiful silverwork details. Bark, leaves & especially the tree eyes. And the lovely leaf band for the prehnite. xoxoxo
