Perfectly Imperfect

I've been trying to find some time to make some tree bark earrings and I finally did. I selected just the right pebbles to emulate the colors of leaves. I really love this variety of beads, finding shapes and colors in which to espouse was the fun part.

These chrysoprase beads are the next best thing to visiting an agate strewn beach.

*let's pretend we are all there catching salty spit, walking through the fog, searching for treasure.

"perfect enough" as my FIL is known to say.......art is not all about perfection though....

craftsmanship should be a high priority. These will make it to etsy tomorrow.

*remember, you are standing on the shore watching a line of tag team pelly's fly low over the breakers, they turn and dip their wing in into the cool salty abyss.

Speaking of imperfection, next time write "run me over" on the box.
Have a superduper day all, xo mermaiden Ro

  2. It would have been worse if there was not bubble wrap wadded up in the corners, contents were safe, luckily.

    Thank you!!

  5. I say a little prayer each time I send a parcel especially the ones that have to travel far. I haven't had anything returned tough, that is a drag :(

  6. Yes, please, to all of the above! Combing the shore for treasures...it never grows old, does it. Your silvered bark and chrysophase leaves are imperfectly lovely!

All of the above, except for the 'runned-over' box, of course. *boo* Perhaps you've noticed, but I tape all my boxes within an inch of their lives...I think they'd survive a bulldozer squish! =)

  7. WONDERFUL earrings!!! Perfect enough :) for sure. I really love thinking about walking a beach in the fog looking for treasures & watching the water & sky, one of my favorite things to do!!!

Looks to me like someone jumped up & down on that box! xoxo

  9. Those are lovely! The colors are beautiful!
I got a package like that once, it looked like someone had kicked it all the way to my house and then stomped on it a couple times. Miraculously, my very fragile item inside was unharmed! I was amazed.

  10. Gorgeous earrings!

I think we've all received boxes like that at one time or another. Sad, isn't it?

  11. Thank you for the cheers and high fives ladies, did I ever mention you are the BEST! Better than vitamin pills, better than green juice!

How's the beach combing going? Anybody find a shiny abalone bit yet?

Yes we've all had boxes like that arrive, it's hard to really understand how it happens. Maybe a boxed kiln or boxed tug boat landed on top of them or maybe the staff had a soccer game when no one was looking.

    1. I'm totally with the soccer game idea. Possibly rugby. =)

No abalone but a piece of dendritic agate that houses a little raven!!

  12. Dear Mermaiden Ro,

    Thank you for the walk on the beach! Oh, in my mind I'm finding sea gull feathers, cool driftwood and even a little elusive piece of that beautiful blue sea glass!! {{Ahhhh...breathing in that salty air from low tide!}}

I love these earrings AND (of course) your gorgeous new rings. I have a tender spot in my heart for things that are NOT perfect. As I think you know, it reminds me that others do not have to be perfect, and I do not either :o).

The irony here, of course - to me - is that your earrings ARE perfection!

Sending love and admiration your way. You know how to spread joy better than anyone I know ♥.

big X big O ....and happy Friday!

    1. It was refreshing, no? I plugged a book into my head and banged around, felt the salt air, lovely day, gulls in the distance....

And you in turn, joy spreader extraordinaire!

      Happy Friday back at cha.

      Love ya Bird!
