The Color Game

Since my own work is well,

suck ing at the moment,
n : the act of sucking [syn: sucking, suction]
 v 1: draw into the mouth by creating a practical vacuum in the mouth;
"suck the poison from the place where the snake
bit"; "suck on a straw"
(not a polite word but feeling accurate)
Needing a distraction, I sat down with Bryce at the end of my day yesterday and helped him print cd covers for his up and coming tour....first stop, Las Vegas :)

I was thinking about how I perceive people in colors, do you think about people as colors? It could be where you live or the personality traits I've come to know on blogs in conversation, in person, your stone choices. I can't really say but I do think of people often as colors and I thought it might be fun to play a game. I don't suffer from synesthesia though I don't think it would be such a bad thing. If you want to play you can tell me what color I am and I'll tell you what color you are, it could be more than one. You can comment on other contributors, don't play if you're uber sensitive, it's just a color after all, a bit of fun since we are not on vacation.

  1. Oh, Ro. The big suck. I sympathize. (Isn't it funny how things can both suck and blow...as in, 'It really blows when work sucks!')

I think of autumn when I think of you, and all the colors she brings...still plenty of greens, but the golds and oranges and sepia browns, too. Those colors so often come through in your photos and in the stones you work with.

And of course I want to PLAY! =)

  2. Okay sister, you are midnight blue and Abraham Lincoln Rose red, I don't have so many explanations for the colors, they just come to me, midnight blue, the sheen of the raven. Red, well I'm not sure why, you just are!

    2. Well, you could say that. I think it was just me taking the path of least resistance. I don't like shopping. I don't like dresses. The first shop I went into had one remaining cheongsam in red. In my size. For $30.
      Jackpot! =)

  4. ro.
i don't at all think your work sucks.
    it never has.
    it never could.

    so. while i'm here....
    i think of you as:
the ceil blue of an absolutely clear sky.
the green of lush thick grasses.
the fuzzy brownness of doe and fawn.
    the bright magenta of dichelostemma.
    the yellow of wild lilies.

that's all. i just wanted to say that.

  5. when I'm in my head as I am at the moment I'd rater not have to try and force it so I think it's just best to stay away from the silver today. Thank you though.

You are a paisley, you are deep purple, gold, medium blue and forest green, even though you should be white like snow, but nobody is devoid of color.

I appreciate the color palate you paint me in.

  7. You're like lapis--deep blue with little gold flecks! :) By the way, those cd covers are great. And I deal with "sucking" by walking away! I used to try to make myself keep at it, but it always backfires.

Writing chugging along, thanks. Mostly research this week. On trolls. I'm about trolled out. I've come to the conclusion that trolls really got the suck(y)...see what I did there...end of the stick! We'd all be bad tempered if we lived underground and couldn't go out in the sun.

(Oh, wait...that sounds kind of nice, actually...

...perhaps I should dig deeper into my family tree...)

  11. Okay, what fun!!

    Here goes:

Ro, you are a solid purple...solid,earthy and vibrant like sugilite, not as much like amethyst purple

Ash, you are the colors of a dendritic agate - 2 colors: one for when you are in your cave, and one for when you are out of your cave!

raeandco, you are blue/green, more green than blue (like turquoise when it has a lot of green to it)

Sandi, you are green (like beach glass green)

pencilfox, you are soft shades of gray, like rabbit fur

Cinder, you are that gorgeous sky blue on a summer day

LoriAnn, you are a true mix of the cool colors...blues, greens, purples (the pastel versions)

Caroline, you are a solid clear turquoise (Sleeping Beauty kind - no matrix!)

Allisunny, you are the soft, tender yellow of buckskin leather

Priscilla, you are a reddish violet

DJ, you are a strong indigo blue

JulieWhitmorePottery, you are a ladylike light blue

MrsLittleJeans, you are the pure primary colors - all 3 - red, yellow and blue

DawnofLaTouchables, you are solid lipstick red

Appaloosa*Moon, you are a soft shade of light pink

Debbie, you are an orangish red, more red than orange!

Whew! Did I leave anyone out?

Thanks for the fun idea, Ro! (You knew I'd respond!)

      Thanks for the giggle. xx

The first time he did it we were sitting in a quiet room and I jumped a mile. Now he says before he does it "I'm hitting my computer" go ahead honey........ha haa he has a s**t computer too.
