Road Trip, Clouds

Hello friends, it feels good to be home and reflecting on some beautiful country to the north of us here in this great long state of California. We followed the clouds with no real destination, just to head north and journey to places we had not seen and enjoy any interesting side shoot we felt like stopping, in the evening looking for a place to park the truck and make our meal.

*Northern Harrier sometimes known as the marsh hawk hunting for snakes

* Black-necked stilt fishes in the cloud marsh

Hello Bessie and Bossie

This girl didn't need to look far for inspiration

Grrrrrr get away from my bike....

black leather, studs and fringe gave this little veinershnitzel an inflated ego :)

Camping on a rancho in our bed, bath (maybe not bath) and beyond to the sound of bawling cattle, the sent of warm sugar pine and a campfire at night to ward of hungry mosquitos.

Hope you all had an enjoyable 4th, it feels like summer!

  1. Glad you had a lovely time meandering north, Ro. (Puts me in the mood for some redwoods.) I often wonder what it would be like to be a meanderer. I hate to admit it, but I'm a planner; an organizer. (Some may even say there's an A and a N and another A and a L in there somewhere.)

After five sleepless nights due to firework fiends, all was quiet by 11:30 last night! Maybe they got shut down. Maybe they just ran out of fireworks! Ha.

Off to go write something. Or read something. Or eat something...if there's food (...is there food...??). Or maybe just go shopping.

(I think it's going to be one of those days.)

PS. Inflated veinershnitzel!!! Too funny! =)

    1. I'm such not a planner, I'll know the place I want to be when I see it :) I like to take my chances, so far, so fun!

We had a bang so loud last night it sounded like a roadside bomb, my son was near the epicenter and said it made all the car alarms go off! My poor little dog shivered and hyperventilated for a good hour. GOSH,wth do we just have to top ourselves every year, it was like a war zone, glad our hills are intact.

I'm back to work too, feels good :)

    2. I do envy that quality. Deeply. But, alas. (No wonder my youngest blister calls me a nana!) Still, at least on the page I can be fearless and fancy free, right??

Those boomers are the worst. I was reading an article just the other day how difficult many veterans find 4th of July celebrations with fireworks. I can only imagine. War zone, indeed. (Poor wee doggy!)

Glad you're having fun in your studio. I imagine your travels have gifted you with inspiration!

    3. Oh well I wish I were a better planner at times, it takes all of us to make the world go round :)

Oh and rested hands and mind, a TREAT!

  3. You see the BEST stuff when you go somewhere!!!
    :-)

That Hog Dog is too funny--you're right, must be the leather.

    All those CLOUDS--love it!!!!!

Welcome back--I'm thinking if this little jewelry thing doesn't work out for you, you could find a gig as a road trip planner/agent--people would pay good money for you to give them a list of supplies, point their vehicle in one direction and say, "Go."
    :-)))))

    Missed you!!!

  4. It's all out there waiting to be seen! I'm most appreciative about the refuge info, we took a nice long visit there, TREMENDOUS, even this time of year.

Those little hot dogs had too much pepper for their own good, their hero Dawg the Bounty Hunter, he heee!! I think they dream of having legs.....

Oh I could but I want to be a bird photographer too :) As I said I'm not a good planner but I can point :) I like to go where nobody is.

I missed you too honey bunch!!

    1. Oh ha haaa I've never known a soft ceramic artist but I like to get away from the comfort zone from time to time so I can remember to appreciate things like a warm shower with walls :P

  6. Sounds like a great road trip! I am a horrible planner, so just heading out on a journey appeals to me. I love that 1st picture, the sky looks soooo big!
And that little veinershnitzel really cracked me
    up :)

  7. Well I think we sometimes get so tired of the schedule it feels good to to shake free of it and just escape.

I should have taken a picture of the riders in their get up that was the best part but those hot dogs were a riot heading home from Reno. I wonder if they were blackjack players? There were three dogs one for each bike all grouchy veiners.
