Happy Birthday!

We're back after visiting some beautiful country, back in time to wish all of you in the 50 a very happy birthday.

*I'm off to shop for corn, cherries, watermelon and something for the grill. Not only is the corn knee high but also the mail, it's tough to get back into the swing of things. I'll show you pictures soon.

  1. Welcome home, Ro! And Happy 4th, too! =)

Neighboring doofheads have been letting off fireworks for days (until 1:00 this morning) so I imagine the next couple days are going to be full of festive fun and frivolity!

(Hrmph. Going back to my bleepin' cave.)

Hope you had the loveliest of travels!!!

PS. Whoever invented those cannon ball fireworks should be strung up by their short and curlies. (I'm just saying.)

    1. Hi Ash, I was surprised at how many communities still sold fireworks especially in some very dry places. We are always worried about fires here and fireworks have been outlawed for quite a long time and I'm happy about that, not that everybody adheres to rules. My little doggie becomes as unglued as you do. Sorry about all the shaBang, I do remember loving those smokey snakes when I was a kid though :)

You may have to divert to your Ipod.

    2. I know! Especially after what's happened in Colorado this past week! I thought they were banned here, too--there are signs posted everywhere about fines--but there's something in WA state law allowing fireworks to be purchased and discharged at certain times of year. (I looked it up after seeing a big stand of fireworks being sold at our local grocery store!!)

I've had a few, "When did I turn into my grandmother??" moments the past week or so, but things just aren't quite as funny at 1:30 in the morning...like this morning, AGAIN!!! =(

Oh, well. I'll just do what I do every year. Pray for rain! Bahaha!

Happy days and happy 4th, Ro. Enjoy the good eats!

  4. WELCOME back! I missed you!

I just know you had a fantastic change of scenery! Isn't it funny how fast one sometimes gets back into the swing of things after a vacation?

I hope "real life stuff" gives you a chance to savor your time away :).

Happy 4th to you all at the Darrow compound!
