What Say You?

As a certified early bird, I admit, I have a hard time with this particular time change. Springing forward is my daily ritual, I like to get up early and get a jump on the day. I'm on the west coast and you, over on the east are already are up and going no matter when I rise. I know some states don't adhere to the daylight savings time philosophy and I applaud them. "Don't mess with my body clock man!"

This week I forgot my hair appointment and I also forgot my yorkies grooming day until it was too late and I didn't have any reserve energy to do it so I just ended up taking a shower with him :)

What do you think about this time change, do you like it and why?

Best wishes, Rumply and Stiltskin

  1. I do not like the time change...I still no see any point to it! And I started observing two days before it started because someone called the cat boys and my 5 a.m. wake up call became a painful 4 a.m. yaaaawwwn! I see your cute shadows on the wall! xx

    1. UGH it's hard to get a jump on thing with everyone else up, forced as they are :(

Our animals must think were crazy.....oops they already knew that, mums the word.

  2. I HATE the time change. And so do my horses! Talk about a way to screw up everyone's body clock. This morning the cat wouldn't even eat his breakfast. We all walk around in stupors for a few weeks before we adjust. I'm a morning person, but this feels forced and unnatural. I know I'm being a complainer, but hey, you did ask :)
And on a happy note, loved your shadows and the glimpse of the back of the doggie's head. Very cute :)
And since I'm commenting, LOVE those feather rings!

Complain away, then I don't feel lonely ;)

Maybe by next week we can get our hairs in place :)

    1. I think we should be able to have an official vote, state by state, whose running this show anyway?

Mart might have liked it better than the bottom of the shower but no blow drying :D

      Thank you about the feathers!

  5. Okay, I'm laughing at Rumply and Stiltskin--heeheeeheeeeeee!!! AND the whole deal with memory--I forget things, too, no matter how the clock is set.

This year, for the first time ever in my life, I am NOT having trouble with the time change--getting up early and going to bed at the normal time (too late)--could be because of some extra obligations I've had. That word "stupor" describes me during this week most years.

HOWEVER, we're having a string of fabulous and completely unseasonable weather and I think that's helped--the geese have returned and they are LOUDLY claiming their favorite nesting spots--the chickens are out and about early each morning--I keep watching for cranes to migrate through--there are just so many reasons to get going this week, so I have been for once.

Now, if we had the blizzards from this time last year again, yes, I'd still be hibernating....

Best wishes on the hair care--one thing about our early thaw is the early mud that coats our dogs--and black Labs are a bit too big to bring in the shower....

    :-)

  8. uh oh.
I love the time change. My favorite is it stays lighter till almost eight thirty in the summer and the day lasts and lasts. Feels like a week in every day. Then when its time to turn the clocks back in fall, my tail goes down.
    (but just for while)

    1. Julie--we're light until almost 11 pm here in June--North Dakota, almost at the Canadian border--you would love that! The first summer we lived here, our laying hens would stay up LATE with all the light--we had trouble getting them shut into the barn before we went to bed. They got smarter, though...I know what you mean when you say "feels like a week in every day." So much opportunity....

    2. Well good Julie then it's a gift to you.
Still the days would become longer even without the clock interference and REALLY long for you Northerners!!!

Caroline, I'm feeling your sparkle today :)

  9. Hi -- am weighing in to say that I like the time changes also. Julie, I would like to "second" everything that you say! My sentiments exactly :o). I even somewhat like setting the clock back in the fall because it feels right....I know we are approaching winter, and it feels cozy to me. I find a comfort too in doing these same things (clock changes) each year!! I loooove the extra daylight this time of year!!!!

  10. Me too, I love the time change. It's not dark anymore when I leave work & that feels good to me!! More sunshine when I'm NOT at work:) I'm not an early bird & that probably has a lot to do with my perspective. Have to admit that the morning darkness IS making it even harder for me to get out of bed:-) xoxoxo
