Laguna

*sold
I finally finished this gorgeous hinged piece. The stone is Morenci turquoise which is scarce and collectable. The stone resembles a clear lake viewed overhead, there's even a touch of green in the center.

I added bits of the desert, including verbena leaves and a tiny bloom and seeds.

I'm having a blast working on projects. I'll list this pendant along with the pieces below later today. I'm champing at the bit to get back to the pieces I started yesterday.

  5. Love the turquoise from yesterday (I've been on an earring bender myself this week;) Really love this piece and appreciate the work that must have gone into it (the stone is just beautiful, but oh, to be able to make hinges..) Thanks for sharing your trip, I loved all of the pics along the way. Wishing you a wonderful rest of the week.

  6. I think you got just the right balance here, Ro. You let that beautiful stone speak for itself and then gave it wings with lovely silver vignettes to either side. The layering of your three-dimensional botanical elements over your drawn (etched? stamped?) elements is so textured and wonderful.

Like everyone else, I too am a bit "unhinged" at the awesomeness of your hinges. :-)

Ro, this new piece is making us all un-hinged (good one, Harsi!!) I know I am:
    dis-jointed
    un-pivoted
    de-elbowed
and brought to my knees with the beauty of this baby!!
((.....so, okay, maybe I made up some of these words. lol))
