Cornflower Study

To look at any thing,
If you would know that thing,
You must look at it long:
To look at this green and say,
"I have seen spring in these
Woods," will not do - you must
Be the thing you see:
You must be the dark snakes of
Stems and ferny plumes of leaves,
You must enter in
To the small silences between
The leaves,
You must take your time
And touch the very peace
They issue from.

  3. Love these images and the sentiment of the poem. A very nice study of this stunning flower, Ro! I think I'm more smitten with the buds than the blooms, though... your 3rd and 4th photo conjure visions of some sort of wonderful artichoke/Easter egg hybrid! :-)

I don't need to contemplate if you are having a nice weekend or not... all I need to do is look outside at our glorious weather to know that you have a smile on your face too! xo

  5. Hi Lori, I know you find peace in those places too. The simple bachelor button is not so simple.

Mine too Deb, I did that last evening, I really did.

Gorgeous at every stage Harsi, The buds ARE so gorgeous just like a firework tight and bound waiting to POP! The weather has been wonderful, my only regret is not enough time to wander as much as I'd like.

Hi Vita! aren't they! Blue flowers yummm
