Peaceful Places

size 7 1/4

"The Peace of Wild Things"

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be

I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.

I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.

And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

I was not going to blog today, I don't feel very chatty but I do appreciate this little community and your support. My intent with this little space was obviously to showcase my jewelry and influences but also to bring a little something to the table. My mother taught me so many lessons, for instance when you visit someone always bring a little something to show your gratitude. A snippet from the garden, fruit, herbs or extra vegetables a bottle of wine in exchange for a dinner invitation, in other words don't come empty handed.

In return I received not only your friendship but your generosity and kindness also sharing your knowledge, poetry and in return.

*cause and effect, give and receive, rules that are golden.

I'm finding peace in my work, new pieces, Thursday, xoxoxoxox
